Okay, it's time for me to come out of the closet, I'm a cat hater. I despise those sneaky little psychopaths. You can keep your stinking cats.
To be clear, I don't condone violence against cats, that is wrong and I wouldn't want to sink to the level of a feline bully.
So, who's with me? Cat haters unite!

*Disclaimer The world can be an ugly place, sometimes we can take brief respite from that and have fun with something that can be taken less seriously. Like pets.

I'm not a hater, but I'm no fan. I live in the sticks and they keep the rodent population down, so that's a plus. Our one cat just had kittens two days ago so we now have six. That is good because they tend to disappear due to all the bobcats, Foxes, coyotes, hawks, etc.

But they don't come indoors. Most cats hang around about a year or so before they just disappear.

They are also nowhere near as communal as dogs.

Look up Gary Larson cartoons. I'm pretty sure he didn't like cats.

Hate is a strong word and I am surprised you are using it. That said, the cat thread here on TB has 3,460 post. The spoiled dog thread has 215 post. So I think you may be swimming upstream here. I myself love all animals but prefer to live with my loyal dog over a cat any day..
You've probably already heard this, but proof your dog loves you more than your wife. Lock both in the trunk of your car for an hour, open the trunk, and see which one is glad to see you. :)

I suppose I could like a cat but it would have to be an outdoor cat. Had one for 19 years. Never again will I have an animal I have to clean up after. Inside that is. Don’t mind routinely picking up some dog poop.

Yay! The only clue that will minimize my exposure to Toxcoplasmosis!

(Not strictly a cat hater, just incredibly allergic)
My wife is too. Some people just don't get that. They might say "It's okay we put the cat in the other room."
That doesn't matter, I could still end up taking my wife to the E.R.

Cats are mean.

And, I'm allergic.

Dogs for life!

My neighbors feel the same way. That is why I had to put wire mesh on top of my fence to keep my backyard from becoming a fly infested litter box. :rage:

And that dander can linger for a LOOOOOONG time afterwards. My fav is when we go out to somebody's place and they tell us they don't have cat, but after my eyes gel shut and the hives are all over my arms and raucous coughing they admit they had one a few months back, but not anymore, and "hey, what's wrong with your arms dude". Ugh. Allergies suck.

Honestly I've never liked cats. I've tolerated them in the past (we had a couple when I was younger because of a mouse problem), but in the last 20 years I've become allergic. So, no cats.

Thanks for standing with us against the creeping feline menace. Any suggestions for a secret handshake?
