Hi guys,
sorry for the Custom English in advance.

I'm not realy up-to-dated here, and last time I've played was 10+ years ago.

I'm choosing a bass.. for fun, as a hobby, mayby to play some gigs and so
on.

And (step bro) I'm stuck.
my eyes are now on:

1.Cort E4 Element
Cort E-Bass | Artisan B4 m. Markbass MB-1 EQ Bartolini TA| B-Ware

2.Mayones BE4 Exotic
Mayones Bass e-Bass BE4 Exotic aus 2009 in top Zustand

3.Warwick Thumb BO 4
Warwick Thumb Bass

4.Streamer LX BO
Warwick Streamer LX 5 Saiter

5.Musicman SUB Stingray
Musicman SUB USA Stingray Bass 2006

I actually do not know what I want..
due to the workload I can not travel across the country to try them all out.

all of them are upon 900 Eur. Warwick looks badass. Mayo as well..
MM - is made in USA.
Cort has some hi tech Bartolini poopiee on board..

I'd be greatefull if you spend some time to share your opinions.

What kind of music do you like to play? Examples of what you want your bass to sound like can help with recommendations

thanks for the reply man.
like I've said just for fun.. tunes here and there. I want it to be fat and heavy, but still flexible enough if i'll play some blues or rocknroll.=)

I mostly think of the quality and playability now

I think you'd really be surprised how much different strings and an intimate knowledge of both the bass' control panel and amp will allow you to achieve your goal.

Try reviews of each bass, but remember... you're reading or watching what the reviewer thought. Take what would definitely be of value for what you're looking for, and dismiss the rest.

Good luck!

Sire or Squier?
i gues, not. do not want a Fender-style bass
Two of my friends own Squier Bronco basses. I've played them and they are quite nice. Good value for the money.
thanks=) this I have to learn how to accept=)

What you shared seem expensive to me for a bass just to goof around on. But if I had to pick one of those, it would be the Warwick streamer.
We live once.
why not Thumb?

ahah=) that I know, used to play a lot in the past

If you are able to somehow try the basses, then that is the best way to find out if its a good fit. If not, go off the specs and see what kind of sound you are looking for, and if the string spacing is comfortable etc. Reviews online are usually sponsored, so take the advice with a grain of salt.

First, willkommen bei TalkBass, mein Freund! :woot:

Second, what instruments did you used to play? What felt comfortable in your hands?
Hey, danke Dir)))
Schecter, Fernandes, greco.
I like it when the neck is not extreme narrow or broad) actually I do not remember)))

Have to travel all around the country to try them all)

You're from Germany. I would suggest a trip to Thomann. You can try all the basses you want, there

"Musikhaus Thomann
Hans-Thomann-Straße 1
96138 Burgebrach-Treppendorf"

I had a thumb, and loved it! but the Streamer is more versatile in my opinion. The Thumb has a distinct tone to it, that doesnt fit some styles of music to me. They are great basses though.

I was going to suggest the Yamaha BB series, but you said you didn't want Fender style basses.

I had planned to go to Thomann, myself, from Portugal, but the pandemic started.

I really think it's a good idea. It's the biggest store in Europe, probably in the world.

If you really get into playing, you will eventually want Musicman Stingray tone. Just get it first & get that out of the way.

If you listen to some music and think you don’t like the MM stingray tone, get the Warwick. You can buy a second bass later, which will probably be something that can create MM Stingray tone…

No better opinion than your own hands.

As long as you’re not in a hurry, part of the fun is trying new stuff. If you can get to a music store, that’s the best way to start your quest. Even if you don’t find what you like, you’ll probably be able to get a feel for what you’re looking for, or be able to rule some out, either of which can help to narrow your search going forward.

Also, if you can’t try basses out before buying, getting something off the used market will usually allow you to sell it without much loss in case you have to try again.

Either way, no matter what a bass looks like on line, you can’t be sure if it’s going to be a keeper until you can play it.

Good luck with your search!

X out the sub. Just cause they made it 30 miles from my house, doesn't mean squat. My guitarist has one, it's not a great bass.

The Warwicks will play exceptionally.

The Cort will sound great, and play great.

The Mayones is probably the best bet for all of the above. Except that it looks fairly bland.

Those are all good choices. None of them will back you into a corner artistically, but for what I know, I’d opt for the MM Sub.
