Chowny CHB-2

Hey, new member, first thread.

I have a brand new CHB-2 coming in the next few days. I know the first batch is already out, but I have not been able to find anyone who has one, or at least has experience with one, say anything about it.

There are a few threads floating around about the CHB-1's, but no new word about the 2's. So, is there anything to be said about them that hasn't been said yet? Is the difference between them negligible enough so that the existing threads cover everything there is to be known? It is true that all of the other CHB-2 owners haven't had the basses in hand for very long, and that could be why there isn't much discussion about them yet. I just thought I'd ask anyway and see how people are feeling about them.

Could anyone who owns a CHB-2 do me a favour? What is the exact measurement of string spacing at the nut and at the bridge?

Hey man. I will measure them for you when I get back into the office.

Rob Scallon and Davie504 on YouTube each have one

Actually both Davie504 and Rob have the CHB-1 (which is 30.7" scale). Well... Davie504 has two actually, but both of his are CHB-1s.

Kind Regards

Hi

18-19mm at the bridge and 10mm at the nut are the measurements that I have on the one in my hands.

However you can adjust the width a little at the bridge if you want by moving the saddles

Hope that helps!

Can't help thinking that this bass, in fretless with a set of flats on it would produce the sound I'm looking for. Unfortunately Chowny haven't made one yet, so there's no videos to see.

Thanks for the correction. That makes me want even more. So the width of the nut on the Chowny SB-1 and CHB-2 is a bit more than one half that on a jazz bass which is about 38 mm? Is that right?

Hi,

I've been eyeing the CHB-2 for a while now. So far, I'm liking what I'm seeing about it, but I'm still hesitating because I won't be able to actually try one before buying it. I've checked store sites in my country (NL), but so far I haven't seen anything. Is there any bass I can try to get a feel for it, or any way to try the actual model?
