CIJ Jazz Bass wiring issue

I picked up a 2004 Fender CIJ JB62FL recently and have noticed that it's not grounding properly. On quick inspection everything looked OK but I noticed the wiring seemed strange. The output jack doesn't have a ground wire on it. The wiring looks original so I find that quite odd.

I've attached a picture of the wiring as is. Anyone seen one like this before?

I figure I could just ground from the grounding plate in the cavity to the output jack, right?

The wiring looks fine to me.

On mass produced Jazz basses, the jacks are rarely grounded with a soldered connection, as the connection to ground via the control plate suffices. It is not ideal, but it remains common practice.

It is grounded via the control plate. It's not all THAT unusual.
