If this can be of use to any of you...
Found a few diverging recommendations in regards to cleaning and maintaining a EBMM "natural" maple neck and fingerboard. You'll find the answer I got from EBMM Customer Support below!
When writing to them, I have specified that I got my EBMM used...wasn't expecting an answer but as you can see, it didn't change a thing for them... This is top notch customer service!!

"Thanks for playing Ernie Ball Music Man!
We finish the necks with Birchwood Casey gunstock wax and tru-oil in factory for the nice natural wood feel. That is a temporary finish that will wear off over time. One of our engineers has a good video going over the process if you'd like to get it back to the factory feel,
For general cleaning, we recommend the Ernie Ball Wonder Wipes fretboard conditioner. Any high grade lemon oil like Old English will do the trick if those aren't available. For a deeper cleaning you can use Murphy's Oil Soap diluted 3:1 with water. Once dirt has worked its way into the pores of the wood, sanding would be the only that could remove it. We don't recommend heavy sanding as it could change the shape and feel of the neck.
Thanks!
