cleaning hardware on an older bass?

I just got an older Lakland DJ5. I have been looking for a long time for a corean version of this bass and they are quite difficult to find in Europe.

What products are you using for getting rid of gunk and some corrosion on the bridge?
extra points for products/ names of products available in Europe.

is it chrome hardware ?...is the chrome flaking off, is it rusty?....if its rusty i'd use ajax and vinegar with an old toothbrush and lightly clean it...after taking it off first. But if its just surface dirt on screws and saddles, be best to take all that stuff apart and let it soak.

SEMICHROME. Have used it for years on chrome, Brass and other stuff. Best there is!
