The TalkBass Commercial User Policy (CUP) prohibits a commercial user from creating a new thread, or initiating discussion about, their own wares (spam). There is however an exception in the CUP, which allows a luthier to post a "build progress" tutorial thread detailing the creation of a bass, in this forum.
Lately this exception has been opened a bit too wide, and we've had more commercially motivated posts and threads in this forum than we'd like. So we've tightened up the wording in the CUP, so the exception now reads:
Please read this over carefully. By 'detailed tutorial', we mean a lot more than just wood shots and a completed bass . For showing off new builds like this, we have created a separate subforum entitled "Builder's Showcase" - if you have a new build you want to show to the community, the Builder's Showcase forum is the place to do it. As it's an advertisement, we ask for a small monthly fee for access to post a new thread in this forum (more info located in the sticky in that forum).
Thanks!

--Luthiers/builders may post "build tutorial" threads in the Luthier's Corner forums. The luthier must limit each thread to a single build, from start to finish, and provide a detailed, multi-step tutorial of the build progress (more than wood shots and complete basses). The TalkBass " Builder's Showcase" forum is available for luthiers who simply want to post latest build pics, or progress pics (subscription required).
