Seriously, are we not doing phrasing anymore?

So, my girlfriend prefers me without my glasses. I have a fairly weak script, but it's enough that when I don't wear my glasses I get headaches. I wore contacts years ago but have no clue what the most economical way to try out a few different kinds. Maybe a favorite brand/model?

I get an eye exam every couple years, but always buy my glasses from zenni.com.

So I humbly ask for your collective knowledge to enlighten me.

Thanks

I wear Breathables XW for extended wear. Not only are they super comfortable for normal wear, but they are fine to sleep in. The doc recommends taking them out at least once a week for a cleaning. I usually take them out twice per week, and leave them out for a whole day on the weekends, just to be safe. They are good for a month, which works out to about $14/month when I buy a one year supply.

Make an appointment with an optometrist/eye doctor for a contact lense fitting.
They will have several styles and brands available for you to try on and check out, and you'll get samples to try.

This sounds vaguely familiar. Like I said, I used to wear them, as in twenty years ago!!

Well Zenni might be part of the problem. You can't really know how glasses will look on you till you try them and once the Zenni glasses get there it's too late; their yours.

I say approach this 2 different ways.

1. You should always have a pair of glasses regardless. With that said go to a Cohens or some place like that (just to try them) and try to find one that you find you look really good in. You will be paying a lot for them but since I wear glasses daily to me it's worth it.

2. If you want to pursue contacts I found nothing beats than an actual eye-doctor not one of those Costco locations. By doing that you will deal with a person that specializes (not the doctor) in contacts. They will have you try one or more till you find one that are the perfect fit.

Me personally, after wearing contacts for over 10 years I was done with them. While I do look better w/out glasses I just don't need the hassle of contacts anymore. But to each is own.

Just to be clear, She likes the couple pairs of glasses I currently have. She simply said "You look way cuter without your glasses." I won't argue solid logic like that.

So, I figured that because I have optical insurance (Thanks Job!!), and I haven't been in a while, I could probably try out contacts for a low out of pocket cost. Exam will be covered, maybe other expenses too.
Also, when I am referring to being cost effective, I don't mean cheap. I simply don't want to overpay.

Well in that case, do what I suggest about seeing an actual eye doctor, then get fitted for lenses and pay for a small amount and make sure you have everything you need to know to contact 1800contacts or whatever it is.

Just a simple wear-and-toss affair.

LOL! The last time I tried to wear contacts for more than ~4 hours at a stretch I did indeed "toss" them ...ripped them out of my eyeballs and tossed them on the ground the minute I got out of the venue. And those were supposedly "extended wear" soft lenses. I sure hope the technology's improved since then.

When did this happen?
