What kind of strings would you recommend for a fender Coronado bass (vintage)?

Long scale Chromes or long scale tapewounds.

@jmjbassplayer is this because medium scale strings aren't long enough for the G string tuner? Sorry to ressurect an old thread. I like the idea of tapewounds. What brand do you recommend?
