Just curious what styles/brands of electric basses seem to be popular with students these days? Pbasses? J-basses? 5strings? Fenders? Spector? Etc. Thanks, Brian.

By far the most popular basses are 5 string J basses. The Fender American Deluxe/Elite Jazz 5, particularly with the natural finish, is one I've seen all the time. Sire's J basses are very popular too. Lots of P basses. Also a fair bit of Stingrays, Ibanez, and fancy boutique builds. Personally, I've only seen one Spector in the department besides my own.
