Hi everyone,

This is my first post here so please be gentle. I've used the search feature but couldn't get an answer to my question.

I recently purchased a slightly-used 2016 American Elite Jazz bass, which is hands-down the best instrument I've ever owned, but for one problem. I don't care for the hybrid neck.

This bass replaces my old Music Man Sterling with the modified D profile and that neck style plays like an extension of my arm at this point. The Elite hybrid goes from a C to a D as you move up the neck, and is quite chunky near the nut. I have small hands and I am not getting more comfortable with the chunky section, so I've decided I want to replace the neck.

A problem with this model bass is that Fender just started making it last year and they're using a modified design at the heel that I don't think they've ever used before- it's more like the heel on the Music Man I replaced. They also generally don't make a Jazz bass with a D profile, as far as I can tell. So the sites I've visited (Warmoth and a few others) don't show the modified heel as an option on the Jazz necks, nor do they show the modified D profile that I prefer. But I can't be the only person who doesn't like the stock neck on this thing. Otherwise it's a wonderful instrument, but the hybrid necks seem to be more suited to guitars and not basses, unless you are a bassist who plays a lot of chords, which I am not.

Anyway, I'm looking for suggestions as to who could do this work. This is a really nice bass in every other respect, and this needs to be done right. I am not wealthy, so cost is a factor here, but I'm not unwilling to save for a bit in order to get a quality job. The bass is very playable, it's just not as comfortable as it could be. Thanks for any help :)
