I'd love some help/feedback on this wiring plan. It's for a custom bass with a single coil in the neck position and a 4-wire humbucker at the bridge. I want a volume, tone, and blend control plus a coil splitter on the humbucker, so I can put it in single coil mode.
When the humbucker is in single coil mode, I think I've got the phase and polarity right so it will cancel hum and not have phase issues. (Neck=north/normal wind; Bridge=south/reverse wind)
I'm less confident about what's going to happen when the bridge pickup is in humbucker mode. But I think I've got it right. The neck is north/normal. The bridge will have 1 coil that's also north/normal (in phase with the neck, but not hum cancelling) and a coil that's south/reverse (in phase and hum cancelling with both other coils).
So, everything is always in phase and so long as the balance control is centered, hum cancelling.
Have I got this right?
