Specifically addressing former or current users of the HB and Unit67.

Is it reasonable to plan a small, casual gigs bass pedal board with these two pedals up front, or pick only one?

No dedicated compressor on the board. Only a tuner and maybe a DI.
Would you instead pair the Harmonic Booster instead with a Cali76 or SA Atlas?
Would you ditch the Harmonic Booster for a Genzler re/Q or Tech21 Q-strip?

I like how the pair sounds together so far, but open to suggestions.

PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS FOR EACH COMPARED

Both have gain boost.
HB +/- 20dB, 67 -7 dB cut to 22+

Both have High and Bass eq.
HB eq +/- 20dB 80 hz and 5khz

Unit67 frequency centers unknown- per the manual "LOW (6) controls the low frequencies from -15,8dB up to +9,3 dB. HIGH (7) controls the high frequencies from -13,2dB up to +7,2dB. They are not symmetrical tone controls and both knobs have unity gain position at approx. 12:30."

Unit67's eq, when engaged, also seems to act like a mild HPF for bass guitar, cutting and tightening lows (can others confirm the experience?) Boosting Bass does not directly cancel this, though likely it does on a guitar.

HB has Character (blended) and sweepable mids, +/-20dB 250hz to 2.5khz, together hugely useful for tone shaping.

Unit67 has a Range mid control which boosts or cuts some unlisted frequencies an unlisted amount. Less comprehensive than the HB Character, and less useful than the HB mids. Again, this control seems a bit better geared for guitars, but makes it easy to dial a bass out of (or crashing over) a guitarists sonic territory.

Unit67, perhaps most importantly, implements a blend-able 1176 style sustain and compressor.

Curiously, the HB manual includes the disclaimer, "1176®, and SSL® are registered trademarks of their respective companies," so perhaps some editing and lawyering was done there around HB similarities to the 1176?
