I did some searching about this, but couldn't find a clear, clean cut answer. So, bare with me folks.

I am interested in purchasing the Darkglass Microtubes 900. It puts out 900w @ 4ohms and I belive 500w @ 2ohm using a 4ohm cab to lower the output. If using it in 2ohm mode, I read you can also use an 8ohm cab and get 350w.

My first question is...is this safe to do? I've reqd very mixed reviews.

Second question is...has anyone used this head with or could I get feedback on which of these cabs might be the best fit? Open the other cab suggestions as well.

GK CX410 800w 8ohm version
GK Neo 410 800w 8ohm version
GK Neo 212 600w 8ohm
Ampeg 410HLF 800w 4ohm

Thanks in advance for your input!

Obviously, if you want maximum output, the Ampeg cabinet is going to be the one. Otherwise, all of those cabinets will be safe to use, and the only way to choose is based on their sound.

So even running the Ampeg 410HLF 800w 4ohm while the darkglass head is on its 4 ohm setting (i.e. 900w at 4 ohm output) is ok? That sounds wrong but I honestly am terrible at this stuff so it's an honest question. I have a gk neo 410 cab that is also rated at 800w 4ohm and I would like to use it with the darkglass head. My darkglass head is literally coming in today so I'm of course very anxious to know how to safely use it with my cab. Thanks in advance.

Will be fine ! I believe you only select impedance below 4 with this amp. She will be good to go. Despite the slight mismatch in power ratings. They mean very little anyway use your ears for that they are more reliable!! Enjoy your new amp !!! If you ever hook up a second 4 ohms don't forget the switch. I have forgot many times....eek
