I bought a used Deltalite a year ago and I just now got around to measuring the ohms, i was told it was an 8 ohm speaker, it appears to be a 4 ohms (3.8) speaker. From everything I can find Deltalites 15s only come in 8 ohm. The cone has ridges, could this be a recone with different ohms? I recently purchased another with 8 ohms (5.8) and it has a smooth cone. Im confused.

The DeltaLite series never came with the multi-ribbed cone. It's not a DeltaLite, it's probably a BassLite (which IIRC uses the same basket and magnet assy but a completely different cone and was available stock in 4 ohm.

Basslite is stamped. Deltalite is cast, and has cooling fins. Also, basslite has a 2 inch voice coil where the Deltalite has a 2.5 inch voice coil.

The simple answer is probably right: it's a Basslite C2515. If you follow Dukes link, it takes you to the PE website page for that driver, and to a link to the spec sheet. It's a nice driver, and quite similar to the Deltalite II 2515. The Eminence upper mids peaking is present in both, but much more so in the Basslite. Also, the Basslite's highs are not as extended as the Deltalite (2 kHz vs 3.3 kHz). This is not an issue if you are after an old school tone. If you want to cross it to a small horn at 3 kHz or higher, there will be a response gap between the woofer and tweeter. Anyway, its a fine driver. If you really need a matching 2515, just sell this one and buy what you need.

ok so its the older Deltalite, looks like they dont make them in 4 ohms anymore :/.
my head is 8 or 16 :/

my 100 watt tube head does 8 or 15 (its UK) would it be better to get another 4 ohm, wire it 8 ohms? or sell it and get another 8 and wire it 16 ohms? Im only going to run one cab.
Which guitar amp are you using?
