Dialing In That Juicy Tone... Pop Punk Edition

So just like the title says, I'm working on finding a good tone for the type of music I like to play...

Currently I'm running through a MarkBass Little Mark III, a Marshall JCM 800 4x12 and a Darkglass b7k ultra pedal

This is my first complete rig and I'm still experimenting with the whole thing for when I play live. Any EQ tips for getting that real punchy tone that cuts through the mix?

Question You using a P-Bass slung very low?

Okay seriously. Experiment with just your bass without effects pedal. See if cranked gain gets you there or more Master. Then Markbass flat and pedal determining your eq choices.

Use good cables. Not expensive but good.

Lastly. Put your ear to the upper horn. Is that your sound? Is that your sound minus bass eq.?

Now you can tell your gear what you want to hear.
