Going to check out a Univox Hi Flyer tonight & it has a maple fretboard... This is the first I've seen/heard such a thing and I'm wondering if any of you can verify the "stockness" of this bass.
Well, my first thought was "Eastwood?" But, no; black headstock and rosewood neck. However, according to Wikipedia; there were four "phases" of Hi-flyer manufacture, and, YES, some of them did have maple fret boards. Here's a picture of one. Wish it was mine, but... alas, no original lefties made - or else they're very scarce...
