Recently, a thread was started about discontinued basses that we love and miss. I’m curious as to everyone’s same thoughts on amps/cabs. I was a very loyal SWR guy for years, and I miss everything they did (thank God Aguilar came along). Fender’s Bassman series (mid 2000s Indo models) destroyed anything in that price point. Ernie Ball also once produced a bass amp (with matching cabs) called an Audiophile, which I had the pleasure of testing at the summer NAMM show in 2001. Glorious. As far as cabs, I dearly miss the sound (not the weight) of the ol’ SWR Goliath series. Another snappy and killer cab was the Eden 410T, a simple, more compact 410 with a horn, and one rear port. Arguably, one of the punchiest cabs I’ve ever heard. Lend me your thoughts, fellow floor rumblers.......

Genz-Benz made some great heads. Never got to try their cabs.
Man, I wish Yamaha would make these again! BBT110s.
Yes! That raises another question, actually. As I understand, Genz Benz is now Genzler, correct? So what happened?Anything Genz-Benz amps and cabs.
They are great.
At only 47 pounds, my NeoX2 2x12 is just as good and in most cases better than most 2x12's made today.
This picture is when it was being used for my Bass and the Acoustic Guitar Player at the same time when the main board was down and we only had a small board for the vocals to the House. Bass ran in front of the head as usual and Guitar to DI to Mixer, Mixer to Aux In on amp head. Placed in the middle of the stage, this cab filled the 400+ seat auditorium with full Bass and clean, rich and loud Guitar.
It was also used for another Bass Player that day and I was walking around in the audience and felt it was too much, yet proud it was too much without breaking a sweat.
Fender bought them with another company and after a while closed them down.
Mr. Genzler then started Genzler Amplification, and TB's Agedhorse one of Genz-Benz's amp designers went to Mesa. Agedhorse currently takes care of all Genz-Benz repairs and services at a great price so no worry about getting an out of production product with them.
Bring back the ole "tuck and roll"!

Unbelievable. Same story with SWR. I guess if you can’t beat ‘em, just kill ‘em?
I was pining for a Mesa Walkabout until the WD-800 came out. I'm good now, pining no more, but I'd consider buying a Walkabout for a backup or smaller places if they still made em. The used market here was stupid expensive and I've always been a little gun shy about used tube amps/preamps.

I have a GB Focus 112 that sounds great. Wish I could,find a second one!

Pretty rare because they were only made for a few years. Two independent preamp sections.
Input 1 is tube pre while input 2 is solid state. Each side has its own graphic EQ and shelving EQ plus a very versatile compression. Footswitch controls multiple assignable functions in addition to switching between input 1 or 2 or a variable blend of both channels. Power is 450 watts at 4 ohms. All contained in 2u rackspace.
Best paired with the classic 2x15" Mesa Diesel cabs driven by the old school EV 15B speakers. Installed in the TL-606 design shelf ported cab.
If wall shaking thunder is what you're after, this setup is not for you. What this will give you is a very loud amp and cab in a "relatively portable" package. Tons of rich, expansive tone in the critical 80 - 400 Hz range for 4 string bass.
I wont make your pant sleeves flap but your bass will definitely "cut through the mix".
