DIY cabinet: port diameter and length?

Its been years since I built a hifi subwoofer cabinet and I'm rusty on doing these calculations. Was hoping someone who is more adept can help out. I am converting an old sealed guitar 1x12 into a bass cabinet. Measurements are 23x17x11 which i calculate out to 2.44 cubic feet. The speaker is going to be a eminence s2012. I have a spare 2" port lying around that I was hoping to put into it. Any idea if this will work and at what length? Can get a different port if needed. Thanks for the help!

A single 2" diameter port will result in a rather low tuning frequency. I would suggest three 2" diameter ports, each 2" long. This will tune the cab to about 50 Hz, and imo give a pretty good balance between big low end and fartout resistance.

You can then use 2" diameter plumber's "expandable test plugs" to plug ports as needed to deal with boomy rooms and/or if you prefer a bit tighter low end. The S2012 is pretty good in sealed box mode, so you can even plug all of the ports if you want to.
