I have been trying new strings again and knew Jeff Berlin uses these on his bass. I am quite impressed with them in standard tuning 100-40 w/130 B. They are more taught than any DR string which is good, some DR sets are to noodly for me. That being said they have that DR feel in a more taught string. make sense lol. I don't play metal or down tune at all, which is why I went on the light side. This concept is new to me but I think I like bigger core(s) in light gauge, slim pickings thou in terms of finding any other manufacturers selling them.

Stiffer strings in a lighter set... That's been my general trend in the last few years. I want them to be comfortable for fretting, but need a certain degree of firmness under my plucking fingers so they don't go all bouncy.

For example...

GHS Pressurewound 40-54-76-96.
GHS Boomers (hex core) 40-55-75-95.
DR Nickel Lo-Riders 40-60-75-95.

I haven't tried DR DDT only because they only come in stainless steel.
