Benicia, CA — April 1, 2024 — Robert Trujillo’s powerful attack and monstrous tone have earned him the most coveted bass gigs in rock. Dunlop worked closely with him to develop a set of strings to complement that signature sound and playing style with the extra power and flexibility he needs to meet his rigorous touring schedule head on. The resulting Robert Trujillo Bass Strings serve up a clear and articulate top end, a solid midrange punch to cut through a wall of guitars, and more than enough focused bottom to knock you on your backside.

Robert likes his tapered, but not everyone has their bass configured for that style—so these strings are designed specifically for non-tapered setups using the exact same formulas. They’re available in Nickel Wound and Stainless Steel in four-and five-string sets.

“Always trust your ears, attitude, and fingers,” Robert says. “These strings are the perfect balance of power, tone, and resonance on wood.”

So, these are supposed to be strings like Robert Trujillo uses, except he likes tapered strings, and these aren't? Kind of strange to market these as his signature strings when they are not what he uses. Tapered strings sound a lot different than non-tapered strings do. Just saying. Cool packaging though.
Dunlop already makes signatures for Trujillo that are tapered, based on the ad copy it seems these are supposed to sound as similar as possible to his tapered sets.
This is gonna be super swallow, but I would love to try them just to see and it would be worth because the packaging art is pretty bad@ss. Even if I never use them again gonna hang the packaging on my wall lol.
Same, I pre-ordered a 4 string stainless set partially because of the packaging. I like stainless strings and I'm sure they'll sound great, but that packaging really caught my eye.
