Hi everyone. Just a quick post to let everyone know that we are back the forum and pleased to offer our support and help answer any DuraTex questions that anyone may have. Thank you
Good afternoon Beans on Toast. I'm not sure what website you were on for the pint kits in white as I just checked Acrytech.com and it is the second item on the list. Although I'm not sure what water based colorant brand hardware store is using I would think that they would work just fine. At our shop we use the "color trend 888" series colorant. I hope this helps
The paisley ones are OK.It’s my impression that the sample pack pint kits are available in any color as long as it’s black. Is this correct? On the technical info page it says black or white but on the web order page you don’t get to select a color.
Are there any recommended water based tint or dye products that can be used with white DuraTex? They sell these water based products in hardware store paint departments but I’m not sure if they are safe to use.
Thanks.
Although the metallic shades can't be done in your product, I found a work-around.
First I rolled on a smooth coat of white, followed by two textured coats. I applied the rattle-can metallic, and tinted DuraTex artwork. I then followed up with UNTINTED deep base DuraTex. It dries basically clear, and doesn't affect the look of the metallic shimmer.

It’s good to go.I just removed the tolex (pretty easy) and sanded my '94 Ampeg 810 to a smooth surface. Just got it for $300, one blown speaker, which I'll replace. There are still some dark stains where glue might have been. Should I clean the entire cab with some spirits or is it good to paint after thorough sanding?
