Dusty Hills Marshall tone in a pedal

Anybody used a biamp rig with a guitar amp on top like Dusty. What about the distortion?

Chasing someone else's tone is always a challenge. I've heard bass tones cloned (nearly cloned, whatever), sometimes via very different gear than the source bassist.

I have no idea what Dusty used, but I've dialed in tones close to his using the Damnation Audio MBD-1 pedal.

I know at one point they used Tone Bender fuzz pedals, but according to the newest Rig Rundown all Dusty uses is the Marshall amps (and a micro POG and micro Thumpinator), so a Marshall Guv'Nor would be your best bet.

The Guv'nor is terrific, but I didn't find it very well suited for bass without a blend.

Tech 21 GT-2 will do it.

The Bass Fat Drive is okay, sounds like fuzz if you turn it up. I use the lowest setting
