Watching the Eddie Trunk 40th anniversary show, I’ve always respected Mikey’s vocals (purely amazing) but then hearing him sing lead vocals on these videos for some of the VH tunes, he sounds amazing… and then he sings the backups too and I have to think how much did he carry ALL of the vocals?… he sounds great!

This was a good listen

I watched and enjoyed this very much. MA has always been an inspiration and an incredibly solid player. The recent clips of him on the H Stern show totally bear that out as well.
There are a few parts during the trunk show where MA is raising his hands - cajoling the crowd and I'm hearing the bass playing? Were they doing an Earth Wind & Fire and have an off stage player to back him up? Was there a keyboard player in the shadows?
Van Halen used Alan Fitzgerald from Montrose / Night Ranger live. It isn't too far of a stretch..

I saw him waving on the audience several times and didn’t notice any point where there was active bass playing other than open string notes that he managed pretty well. Keys were on stage next to the drums when needed.

Yes you are probably right- I noticed it but didn't rewind it /study it or anything... Regardless 69 ys young and still bringing it! His level of enthusiasm is great...

Van Halen has been m favorite band for a very long time and I often think how much better they would sound with a bass adjustment.

I agree on his singing. Without him, there is nothing.
