Maybe wrong forum but ultimately this leads back to amps and effects sooo...

Finally gonna peruse through DIYstompboxes and it looks like they've got a DDOS attack...

Been repairing for a decade, heavily modding for a few years. College is too expensive -- another story.

I have an old EE textbook from the late 80s I've been studying. The math is timeless but everything else in it is ancient. Is there a book you'd recommend with more modern engineering with possibly a nudge toward the audio end of the field? I'm looking to designing my first pedal and the entire field has become a far too serious hobby.

Take a look at the Amps Forum FAQ sticky, there are many very good tech study references there.

there will always be cool, niche analog stuff, but the handwriting is on the wall, and it says "DSP."
A common book in EE curriculum is Microelectronic Circuits by Sedra and Smith. You can probably find an older edition that isn't too expensive.

I've been reading Electric Circuits Fundamentals by Floyd. Circa 1987. Its a good read but so so so dated. I found a Sedra and Smith 2007 edition on Amazon for close to $20. Gonna pick it up. Thanks for the help. Any other suggestions welcome!
