Elixir Stainless still strings vs frets

Hi, friends. I'm a newbie here, first of all sorry fot my english, i'm not a native.
2 years ago i've bought a nice mexican Fender Deluxe B-bass Special. I always used Elixir strings before but never tried stainless ones. About 4 months ago i've bought stainless elixirs. This weekend i've decided to replace them with new set. You guys cannot even imagine how much these strings eat frets! And i have to say that i'm very lazy, not more than 4 or 5 hours of practice per week. There are only two possible reasons i suppose. Either Elixir Stainless is crap or my Fender does. Please guys tell me if someone used to get the same wear caused by subject strings? As for me - no Stainless elixirs anymore, neither for this bass, nor for future ones
Thanks for any comments.

Unfortunately macro images make things look worse than they are...

Even of you were using flats you would have similar wear.

Unless you have looked at the same things before you really can't blame on the SS Elixir strings are the NPS would cause the same wear.

Metal vs metal they both lose.

Maybe lessen the fretting hand grip a bit?

BS buddy, those frets look horrible. I have stainless DR Lowriders on my Yamaha and there's not a mark anywhere.

If this was some cheap Chinese bass I could take a wild guess, but what is this,

the strings, or the metal on the frets and tuning post?

Those frets must be made of silly putty! Either that or maybe you had damage before you put on the new set?
I've used various stainless rounds over the years and never had fret wear worth worrying about. In fact I've never had a fret job done on a bass yet, short of a fret leveling I did myself on a new to me, used bass. I can't believe that was done in a couple days, unless your bearing down super hard on those strings!

Absolutely not agreed about flats and nickel - no such a wear caused by nickel strings since 2 years. And no such a wear seen on my previous basses, Ibanez SR700 and Vintage Japanease Greco for 8 years of using Nickel strings. Sure i did look at my frets every time i changed strings before, and i repeat there were NO signs of wear, never before. Just look at 2 last photos - see how that SS strings also attack other parts - tuner and bridge parts. Does it still seem acceptable?

Do you guys know if Fender use the same steel (for tuners, frets, etc, bridges, etc.) in both mexican and american basses?
