EMG J5 Pickups Noise

I have a 2006 American Fender Jazz Bass. The "noiseless" pickups it came with were anything but noiseless. So I replaced the Fender pickups with EMG J5's. Noise is still the same and I am a bit disappointed because the EMG's are supposed to have a very low noise level. But the two pickup systems are about the same noise wise. The noise appears to be 60hz and its related harmonics. Any thoughts. Maybe someone has experienced the something similar.

I’m experiencing a noisy treble pot on my Spector Euro 5 and am currently trying to figure out a solution for it. Maybe a noise gate? I only hear the hiss/ noise at certain venues never at home or rehearsals.

I have.a Peavey Millennium which is all active bass, pickups and preamp, both run on battery power. This bass had some noise, hum/buzz which would go away when I touch the output jack. The noise would be a lot less with treble down. This became barely noticeable through headphones once I grounded the bridge (was not grounded). And it was not just stop when I touch the strings, but just in general even if I do not touch anything. Later, I also shielded the cavity with copper tape, which completely removed any noise. Not sure if that is related to your bass.
As for Fender Noiseless pickups, I did hear plenty of complaints that it is not as noiseless as one would hope. In some images it looks like these are stacked humbuckers... Although it might be the Gen4 only.
