Hey guys, looking for some help with some pickup wiring for my new EMG MMHZ for my stingray

I'm looking to put in 2 SPDT switches to switch between series/parallel/north single and south single coil mode.

I got the idea from this video:

Theres a wiring diagram included in the video, but it doesnt seem to be working for me.

The color codes for EMG are obviously different than the Stock stingray pickup, but I'm still having a hard time figuring out the connections.

I'm adding a very basic wiring diagram that I did for the EMG MMHZ pickup I have based on the video above.

Any help is much appreciated

I'm having trouble following the boxes labeled 1, 2, 3, etc. in your diagram. Are those supposed to be the switches?

I'm also a little confused by exactly what you intend by,

Can you tell us which switches you have in mind, and exactly which function(s) you want on each of the two switches?
 
purchased these switches for the project.

Im looking to set up 4 circuits. 1) Series 2) Parallel 3) North only coil 4) South only coil.

1,2,3 and 4,5,6 represent the solder points for the 2 SPDT switches. Again, Im going mostly off of the mods in the attached youtube video to do the same thing.
 
Ok - I paused the video on his wiring diagram and now I see what he's doing. It does look like you have translated his wiring to your pickup's colors. But I think his diagram has one of the coils backwards, the way he's showing the wiring, the coils are basically cancelling each other out. I can assure you that his wiring, followed exactly the way he has shown it, will not work. I'm sure his bass works great though, so it's likely just a mistake in his drawing.

Also, on your drawing, the whole pickup is basically flip-flopped, but that's not as important in a one pickup instrument with a separate shield ground (the bare wire). But you should fix that anyways as a matter of best practice.

Look at EMG's standard wiring for your pickup here:

In the PDF, it states that for "standard series humbucking" you need the green wire at ground, the white and black wires tied together, and the red wire at hot.

If you compare that to the switch positions in your diagram which are supposed to give series humbucker, you've got red at ground and white at hot. The two coils are "out of order" and one of them is flip flopped.

To fix all this, start with the green wire at the ground position on the left switch (terminal 3 in your diagram). The other half of that coil (the black wire) should go to terminal 5 on the right switch.

Then the second coil goes from terminals 2 to 6, but you want the red end on the output side, so put black on terminal 2 and red on terminal 6. That will put the two coils in proper orientation to each other for normal series humbucking mode.

This helped me a lot. I think you meant that the other half of the green wire is the white wire, not the black, because that's what ended up working for me.
