Eminence Basslite CH2010 hemp cone speakers

Hi, I live in Melbourne, Australia. I'm building a 4x10 Neo cabinet, 5cu.ft vented, tuned to 50Hz for rockabilly style double bass. My amp runs 375W into 8 ohms. Neo speakers of any kind are difficult to source locally. I have been offered 4 Eminence Basslite CH2010s 8 ohm 150W with hemp cones at a very low price. I believe they are old stock but their specs appear suitable for rockabilly style double bass. They are 58 Hz resonanace with a stiffer suspension than the Eminence Basslite S2010. Any thoughts or opinions?

Thanks for your thoughts, 55Hz could be a good compromise. It would be easy for me to raise the tuning but a little more difficult to lower it. So I might try 50HZ and see how it goes knowing I could raise it if necessary. Anyhow, I haven't tested the tuning yet, just did the calculations online so the actual tuned frequency might vary. I already have an old Genz Benz 410T-XB2 which has a superb sound and an even response but at 43Kg (95lb) it's getting too heavy for me at my age. Hence the need for something lighter. (I also happen to like building speaker cabs). The 410-XB2 has ceramic magnet speakers with 58Hz resonance but the cabinet is tuned to 50Hz rather than 58Hz, I'm not sure why. It's a 5cu ft cabinet which works so well that I'm thinking that I'll get the same result with the CH2010s in my new cabinet..

No, you will need to do the math in the cabinet to see if they will work acceptably.

The XB-3 cabinet is pretty heavy by itself, I wouldn’t expect enough weight savings to make a driver change worth the cost anyway.

You may want to contact Eminence directly. They've been very helpful whenever I had questions about the suitability of their drivers as retrofits.
They won't share OEM driver data. They may suggest a replacement from their stock models that may be close enough, or maybe just close-ish.

Postscript. I've finished the new cabinet, about 5 cu ft tuned to 50Hz Eminence CH-2010 8 ohm hemp cone speakers, pocket handle in the back panel for easy lifting total weight about 34Kg. I'm delighted with the performance, it goes right down to E on the bottom string (unlike some other quads) and at my age I can still lift it easily.
