Hi, Lynn. I just posted a thread in the DB forum... Thought you might be able to help directly.
I'm a new DB student (at 62!); just ordered a new Engelhardt C1 from Buitar Center. Price and 0% financing for 36 mos. made it irresistible. It's out of stock through and I'm having second thoughts. Can't find much info on how they're being delivered these days (re: strings, bridge, endpin etc.) and am concerned that quality may be erratic. Do you have any experience with these? Also, the bass will "live" in our great room and though color should be the least important thing about the bass, it would be nice to know what color it will actually be! The pix at Guitar Center show an almost orange mid-tone but other pics of C1s show dark mahogany with light maple fingerboard. I tried calling Engelhardt-link and the bass/cello store associated with it and the phone is "temporarily disconnected." Any thoughts you can share on these basses or the manufacturer? Thanks very much for any help you can give. - Scott
