Hi Folks,

I'm new to this community and new to boutique bass cabinets as well. Something about the Epifani D.I.S.T 210's really caught my attention, but I've never actually played on one nor heard one at all. I play rock and roll, rhythm and blues, and rockabilly using an Upright Bass. I use the slap style a lot. I'm trying to get my rig to sound as natural as possible. Would a cabinet like this help? What is the inherent sound of Epifani cabinets? Also, how would this compare to the GK NEO 410 cab I currently play on? I'm using a GK MB500 head. Thanks.

I have a vertical Epifani 2x10 dist cab. Sweet, warm sound. I had tried the horizontal dist 2x10 and loved that also. I don’t play loud, and prefer Epifani cabs. Modern sound or warm. Had several of Nicks 112 cabs. They are fantastic, but more punchy to my ear. Had a Gk500, great amp with the 210. My first Epifani 210 was the 4 ohm PS series. That was perfect for an upright bass. So warm sounding.

It's a very good cab, a bit mid-scooped....and very expensive. IMHO you could do far better for the money. For that kind of coin I'd comparison shop Bergantino, Mesa Boogie, Genzler, Audiokinesis.........just my .02 It probably won't get as loud as your 410, although I don't know how they compare tonally. Is there something about your current rig you don't like....or something you're aiming to change/ acquire? Is it just an itchy case of GAS :) ??
