Hi all
After speaking to my bandmates after finding that my sound was lacking something we have come to an agreement that what my tone needs is some more low end to it , my bandmate gave the example of the stones, beatles etc and said that the bass is lacking that low end to it. Have decided to try some flatwounds and have got a set of Ernie Ball Group iii (non slinky) Flatwounds. Used these briefly years and years ago but cannot recall how they sounded. Anybody here have any experience with these? how do you find them? Any pointers on eq etc with these flatwounds? Thanks

They are my favourite flatwound.
They feel great, sound great, and break in quickly.
They are not a bass heavy flat though, they are well balanced sound wise though.
More emphasis on the mid range character with smooth lows and subdued highs.
Although EQ and your tone knob should solve your problems.

Thanks, wondered how they would sound once broken in, I agree that they feel great, these are so smooth, the only other flat that is this smooth is Labella's (that they remind me of somewhat)
