Evaluating my current set up

My main rig is currently a Pope MPP-2 preamp into a QSC PLX2502. I am pretty happy with this but I think I need to make some changes to my cabinets to better match my power amp. Currently I have a berg HD112 a Mark bass traveler 112. And a EA NL210. Which is 4ohm 500 watts. Am I correct that with this amp a 4ohm cab with a 800 watts rating would be a better choice? I am thinking the EA may need to go in favor of a 2x12 option. Generally I want to get a bit more punch than I currently have.

It matters not the power handling rating of the cab you use or what size the speakers are as long as you like the sound of it and it has enough guns to do the gig.

Generally I agree. I just recently took the EA out with my mark bass LMK so put traveller in its place and like the punch more. I guess I really am still reaching for the ultimate set up.

I think you would be better off with two cabs you like. The resulting combination of cabs is not giving you the sounds you want. Higher power ratings are helpful, but not required here. You can use whatever you want for the cabs as long as you watch the volume levels and listen for signs of distress.
