Hey,

So I have 7 pedals and one spot left on my VL 4x4. There's 4 more pedals that I have my eye on and was thinking of buying a few output splitters but have been thinking about the added noise that may occur. I'd use the high output 9v outs to draw enough current and would count the milliamps for each pedal but am aware that it may still cause noise. For the fourth pedal, I thought I'd just buy a One-Spot for like my tuner or something.

Has anyone had experience with VL power supplies and using the output splitters?

I do two things:

Daisy chain from one port, and use pedals that I know don't cause noise in a daisy chain.

Use the output splitter to run two pedals that are connected by one patch cord (not through another pedal). The ground lifted on one side means you need to use the ground in the audio patch cable to complete the circuit. Works well for most pedals.

You likely have enough current to run all your pedals, just need to be creative about where it comes from :).

Hello. They work well for me with an ISO-5. I can think of at least one pedal that did not like being powered in a split. Otherwise they all played together nicely. Mind you, I don't gig anymore; so I cannot attest to the splitters working well in a different room every night.

If when using a splitter cable you experience noise, hum, silence, or odd behavior that might be attributable to splitting, do a simple A/B troubleshooting test to find the affected pedal, then reroute accordingly.

Be sure to read the manual. In the Voodoo Lab scheme, the basic rule is that all pedals powered in splits must share an audio connection (even if they are not conducting audio through that connection).
