About the same price and I see benefits either way.

I'm crazy about the Fender Bassman 300 looks and stage appearance not to mention the woof/overhead etc. Two channels with loads of variety. Bios switch etc. Sounds like the good old days. Did I say a stack looks badass?
It's the only way my pants will get blown off at my age. Now days the ladies just poke me with a very long stick from as far away as they can stand . . . or just throw it at me. :roflmao:

The tech side of me wants to take the Kemper and load it into to my Mesa Stack thru the D800 and get the cop calls from the next city. Plus the Kemper will take first chair over my little Marshall Stack. I could spend days fiddling, and that ok with me. I like the Discovery Channel.

Guess you could say I'm having a "Hey Nineteen" moment.

I would appreciate any help with those who have experience gigging with either one or both

Cheers.

It's Kemper, just to clarify ;)

Your biggest hurdle is, do the profiles sound convincing enough to you? That's not something someone can answer for you. With all of the chatter about tube magic, feel, and some mythological nonsense people come up with to try and interpret the sound of tube amps, it's best left to the individual inquiring to judge themselves first hand.

With the Klemperer, or any profiler/modeler, you are going to want the flattest, most even response because all of the voicing of the speakers and the amp are contained within the models.

For this application, I would recommend the D-800 but using the aux input (which is ruler flat) and if you are talking about the Subway cabinets, they too are fairly neutral compared with the average bass cabinet.

Then, you would choose your voicing (both speaker and amp) through the models.
