Little bit of backstory here before I pose some questions: I've gigged with this Bassman 500 for 4 years, countless gigs ranging from main stages at outdoor festivals to small bars and coffee shops. I've never had a problem with it. It's always produced and always performed as necessary (running with typically 1 or 2 Rumble 15" cabs), until I recently did a live broadcast session and started to run into some issues. What I'm finding is that the gain in the overdrive channel (which I've used exclusively) all of a sudden has begun sounding farty and frankly like the amp is dying. I've used the overdrive channel with the blend 100% on and the drive to taste, which allows me with my precision bass to go from gritty to warm and fat with the turn of the tone knob and utilizing both preamp tubes as adequately as I could imagine.

Once I started noticing these issues I immediately assumed that the issue must be the tubes themselves, these came stock with Groovetubes that to my ear sound great. These lived in this amp and have worked great for all of this time. I replaced them with JJ/Tesla 12ax7's in hopes that the issue would subside. Unfortunately I've found no luck. I noticed this issue happens too, when using the preamp out as a DI, at times it sounds fantastic and then it sounds like it's dying again.

I'm posting to see if anyone has some insight as to what could be happening? If it's not the tubes in the preamp is there anything else I could check or should work with to try and fix the problem. I love this amp. It's light, and have always received compliments on my tone. And seeing as Fender has, from the looks of it, discontinued this amp; what should I consider going forward?

If you bought it new, you have a year left on the warranty. Take it and your receipt to your nearest Authorized Fender Service Center, quick!

Other than the common assumption that the effect loop Jack's are dirty or need cleaning. If the other channel is fine it's probably not the issue.
Alot guessing man really on the internet.
Since the channel is used often, could be the input jack. Could be anything from needing solder touch-up somewhere or ribbon cables to the board etc etc. Board mounted control pots loose or front panel/knobs got bumped in transport. Board mount tube sockets...etc etc

I' ve got it two years ago...Now it won't turn on... so sended it to fender Italian assistance but they cannot repair cause fender didn't supply spares (power supply module blown)
So if these digital amps are under warrant will be serviced or replaced. Out of warranty you could use as pellet or with a technician that will try a new power supply building. But maybe Will not working with amplifier. So you should thinking a lot before buy a bassman 500 or 800...

Have you confirmed with FENDER that they can not supply the parts to an AUTHORIZED Fender service center in your country.

Often, they will not support NON-authorized service centers with parts because of the number of problems with poor quality techs that do not possess the skills necessary to properly troubleshoot the amp (including additional problems that may be present).

Generally, Fender is very good when it comes to supporting their authorized international service network.

Is the AUTHORIZED fender italian centre that inform me that the parts are not.supplied...or should i repeat again?
It seems strange to me too... so i write to fender europe directly...then they ask me the head serial numbers
Now i' m waiting...a reply

No, you don't need to be obnoxious in your reply. Your post was not clear (perhaps it's due to a language difference), but there is a legal and company difference between "AUTHORIZED" and "Italian Fender assistance" (which could be interpreted as any service shop in Italy attempting to help you).

I used to work under the Fender system, I am doing my best to help you based on what I know about the international service and support network in Europe. Please, you need to improve your attitude or I am done with my assistance.
