I used to have one of these. Was my 1st Jazz Bass. Nice growl!!
The only thing they didn't do right is pickup spacing. This one has 60's.
It’s been like 20 yrs ago but if I remember correctly , that was one reason I let mine go.
I have since grown to appreciate both 60’s and 70’s pickup placement .
I love mine. Every time I look at it, I just get the urge to pick it up and play.

I have read that 1994 was the best year, although I haven't had a chance to compare it with the others.
Prior owner replaced all the screws with gold ones, which I thought I'd hate. But it's actually just the right amount of bling. Very '70s.
Strangely, no. Generally, I prefer my tone as bright as possible. I used to own a real '70s spacing Jbass and I tried playing it with the cover, but I didn't like that sound. On this one, it works for me.
I own four basses and I tend to play each one in a different sweet spot. I'm not sure I can quantify why; it's just where they're comfortable for me. I do play with a pick, and I never really move my hand.
Nah, I keep it at work. I can't get to it right now.
I like them both. These are actually also my go to brands of roundwounds . The Slinky’s win but they seem to go dead at a faster rate.
