Hey TB!

I have been putting a Fender Pawn Shop Mustang bass together part-by-part since they are so rare these days.

I am stuck on what size/brand of tuning machines will fit this bass. I ordered some Gotoh FB-30's and they were too large. If anyone could point me to a brand/model that has worked for them, that would be amazing! Thank you!

Cheers,

Scotty

The Gotoh 30 has a base plate that is 46.7 mm top to bottom. The Schaller BM is 42.9 mm top to bottom. They are available here.

EDIT: To find the maximum size tuner you can use, measure from the bottom of the top tuner hole (G) to the bottom of the second tuner hole (D) in millimeters. That measurement is the maximum length of the tuner, top to bottom, you can use. For maximum width, measure from the bass side of the tuner hole, and the treble side of the hole, in millimeters, to the edge of the headstock; add those two numbers together and divide by 2, now double your answer. That is the maximum width of the tuners you can use.
