Fender Rumble 100 speaker replacement.

I would like to upgrade the speaker on my 100 rumble. I am not concerned about weight just nice fat thick sound. I plan on by passing the rumble amp using my small ampeg PF 500
Which I should probable run at 8ohm 300.
Unless I could run single 12 driver at 500 at 4ohm.
There was a post on this I found a while ago
But can not find again. So sorry to post old posts.

A cab could be just as easy as the combo. A good chunk of the current mid level 1x12 cabs are like 30 pounds or less, probably a bit smaller than the combo and would be a fine match for the pf500 both in power at 8 or 4 ohm and voicing. What you're seeking to do would still have you moving the combo and a head. Why a cab wouldn't solve the problem, as well as leaving the combo un-modified, escapes me.

Well just wanted to know of a decent 12 cone to replace the original. I am not a professional musician. But once in a while I got to a friends house and screw around. I would rather spend up to 250 bucks for a new driver. I already got a ampeg 410 hlf and a pro head. I dont want to spend what ever it could cost for a 12in cab 400+ anyway.
I read in a post a while ago that I cannot find about someone doing a hot rodding of there rumble with sound damping sheets and spent under 200 on a better driver. That where I was heading.

Call US Speaker. Give them the INSIDE dimensions of the cab, and measurements of any ports/vents. They will crunch the numbers and give you several options of replacement speakers that work with the physics of the cab. You can't just drop any speaker you want into the cab. It has to work with the physics of the box. There are speakers for sealed cabs, ported cabs, larger and smaller enclosures, etc.

These guys have always been great to me.
