Fender Rumble 200(c)

With the 115 cab you’ll get the full 200 watts, and with two 115s you will move substantially more air, which is even more important for volume. It might well be loud enough, but the only way to find out for sure is to try it. With amps and cabs, more is definitely more.

Well. I'm in the market for an Ampeg BA210V2. I know for a fact this one will go in a gig. I want the Fender Rumble as a multi purpose/back up rig or even as a duet/monitor rig for the ampeg. I'm just trying to figure out if the Ampeg goes down for any reason, if I can jump to the Rumble and still have enough head room to be loud enough without burning it up.

The 200w single 15 is louder than a 450w 2×10?

It could very well be. It depends on the sensitivity of the 210. They have roughly the same radiating area, so if one has a higher sensitivity than the other, then the one with the higher sensitivity will produce more sound for a given input power (as long as both are operated below significant thermal compression and thermal overload). With 200w max, thermal compression and overload are not likely to be limiting factors.

Alright. I got to to some demoing. I was abe to put the Ampeg BA210V2 with the Ampeg PF210He cab against the Fender Rumble 200(c) with the matching rumble 115 cab. While they'e both loud, the Ampeg is significantly louder when both are put with a matching cab set. Alone, and this surprised me, the Rumble was louder. Come to find out the Ampeg is only pushing 283w when not plugged into a cab and the Rumble is at 140. But that extra 167 watts and little bit of extra speaker surface really does a lot for this amp.

As much as I'd love the Rumble, the same amount of money gets me a louder rig and I'm going to have to go with the Ampeg. I haven' put it up against the 500 asy demo was more about raw volume and tonal quality into the upper registers, but I'd imagine the 500 would knock this thing around but the price point is steeper.

Owned both the 500c and 115 cab & the 210v2 combo, and I can tell ya the Ampeg was much louder. That, plus the Ampeg's midrange cut through much better than the Rumble rig.

The Rumble was a little easier to haul, but if I had to do it over again I'd get the BA210v2. Great tone.
