Hi, I recently purchased a Fender Rumble 500 but every time I try to use it and turn the volume up even slightly it starts to make a whining sound which gets louder as I turn it up more and more. I've tried it with different cabs, different basses and tried using different cables to connect the head to the cab but the problem still persists.

Is this a known problem? I've had a look on Google and can't seem to find anyone else with this problem so I'm thinking of returning it as it is still under warranty. The link below is to an clip of the sound.

If the second one does the same thing, you might have some local form of interference getting into it.

BTW, does it happen with no bass and no instrument cable plugged in?
Have you taken the amp somewhere else to see if it still has a problem?
TVs, computers, electronics power supplies, Flourescent lights, battery chargers, water heaters furnace/thermostat... pretty much anything that runs on electricity these days can cause problems.
Get your rig far far away from where you are experiencing the problem, and see what happens.

THANK YOU @Old Garage-Bander !! I just added a 115 to my rig, and thought I had received a dud due to a whining noise... moved the setup across the room from my computer and it fixed it INSTANTLY!!

Can't thank you enough!
