Fender Rumble Stage 800 Bass Combo connected to Ashdown RM-115T-EVO II 15" speaker 300w Bass Cab?

It will make sound; with caveats:

1. It is rated a bit lower than half of the amps max output, respect that.

2. It may not play nice with the Rumble speaker. There may be filtering or cancelations, weird peaks etc when using them together.

It depends. The only way to know is try, sorry.

Hi...

I'm upgrading my Ashdown set-up - OriginAL head with one 210 Ashdown cab and one 115 Ashdown cab - to a Rumble 800 combo but would like to keep the Ashdown 15" speaker cab as an extension to the Rumble.

Would that work?

Thanks in advance for the great advice I'll get on here! :)

Like basscooker said,

A. If your Ashdown 115 is rated 300W RMS at 8 ohms, as those I see are, then it may not completely handle the full 400W continuous it could possibly see as the only external cab attached to the Rumble Stage 800 combo. In that case please do keep the Master Volume down a good bit.

. Driver voicings notwithstanding, it'll probably sound outstanding!
But,

2. If you instead connect your Ashdownn 210 cab, rated 500W RMS at 8 ohms, as those I see are, you should not have that overpowering concern! And, ... ...

iii. If you connect
both your two 8 ohm Ashdown cabs to the Stage (yes, it can handle 'em both!, Just set the Impedance Switch to 4 ohms.) then you can rock out a very substantial SPL level with no holds barred!! In that configuration all speakers can receive the maximum amp's power within their ratings.

Keith, please come discuss this, and much more, in the Fender Rumble Club and get a free membership.

Thanks for the advice, guys. I connected up the 15" Ashdown and it seemed a bit underwhelming at 4 ohms. So I switched the Rumble to 8 ohms and that seems to give it a bit more whack. ... ... ...

That's correct, Keith. The 8 ohm vs 4 ohm switch on the Rumble Stage 800 refers only to the external cab(s). The Fender explanation of this switch says it actually reduces output in the lower setting!

Just remember to keep that Master Volume down so as not to overpower the 15" cab. If it's only rated rated for 75% of the max 400W it could get, that could require a drastic turn down. Some techs say that some Master controls allow 80-90% power at just 50% of the dial! I dunno if that applies to the Stage but, if it does, you'd need to keep the Master at around 9 o'clock to 10 o'clock for the safety of your cab.

You really should join us in the Fender Rumble Club.

Thanks G-Dog!

Have created a profile in the Rumble Club so assume I'm in!

Not quite yet, I'm afraid, sir. All I can see is that you updated the "Status" line in your TalkBass profile to say, "Just got a Rumble Stage 800 and love it!"
