Happy Early New Years to all of yall! My New Years resolution is going to be getting my Squier Jag playable again. Hopefully!

Here's my issue. I bought a set of Ulyate pickups for next to nothing yesterday. Ive never even heard of them til yesterday but to me they sound pretty good and for the price, they are perfect for my little project that has turned into a big undertaking for me. These pickups are the pj type and that is obviously is what i need. What i dont know is how is tbe best way to go about wiring them. I assume that i need 2 volumes and a tone. If i do it like that, then what do i do about that active turd booster on my jag? What options do i have? Is there a particular wiring harness i could buy to address this. I dont like batteries inside my bass, but i also have four holes on my control plate that need to be filled. (That sounded really odd now that i read that!)
If anyone can give me some kind of input on what kind of options ive got, i sure would appreciate it.
Thank yall!

For the record , I love theses basses. I own 3. With a little effort you can make them sound good. I too changed the pups BUT I put in Jazz pickups. I did this by making a new pickguard. I didn’t check to see if a jazz pickguard would work. I don’t like the PJ configuration, so I bought a pickguard blank and made one .

The short scale is easly to play and I have small hands :( Light too, doesn’t kill your neck and shoulder at a gig. It can almost fit in a standard strat or take case. I kept waiting for Fender to come out with a real short scale jazz , so I decided to convert the jag.

The only downside is the strings feel a bit loose, but I’ve gotten used to it and I’m not going back to full scale.
