Fender Vintage '74 and '64 pickups?

Hi everyone,

I'm looking to replace my current bartolini pickups with a Fender Vintage set for my Squier VM Jazz bass. I was going to buy the Original when I realized there are more options than that. The '74 and '64 spark my interest but with little exposure I'm not sure how they compare with each other...

What do you guys prefer in terms of vintage pickups and what is the difference between the sets?

I have the Fender '74 Jazz p/u's in a 60's type alder body, maple neck. 7.4 and 7.8 dcr, enamel wire. Also have a orange sprague 0.47 cap. Perfect for me.
