So I am finally starting a build that I posted about 2 months ago here. A lot of the details have changed due to variety of reasons, but here's the skinny.
After cycling through about 4 basses of radically different model/maker I have figured out what I like and decided to assemble it myself. Here is the full list of parts (pictures soon to be added).
It will be a passive P/J bass. The configuration is V/B/T/Kill Switch.
Here are the parts!
Extra heavy (8.6lb) Alpine White Satin P bass style body (Warmoth custom)
21 fret jazz neck (USA customs)
Hipshot BML Hipshot HB3 tuners with a d-tuner on the E string and Hipshot string retainer
Babicz Full Contact Bass Bridge
Aguilar 4p 60s P pickup
Kloppman Jazz Bass bridge pickup
Graphtech nut
Stellartone Tonestyler 10 tone control and pot
Switchcraft output jack
Some cool aluminized pickguard I found on the Stellartone website.
I am starting to prep the body by sanding any imperfections out of the control/pickup cavities right now. I plan on going the whole 9 yards with this build. I will be shielding it completely with copper tape and then installing everything with the greatest of care! I hope you guys will enjoy the journey with me!
