Hello everyone. I recently made the purchase of a Bongo 5 HH Stealth. The used instrument does not come with a case though. I was wondering, since it's so hard to find an actual Music Man case for it, is there a substitute case that will fit the 5 string Bongo?

I'll take this chance to rant. AFAIK all Musicman basses come with a case from SLO, isn't it? So why would anybody decide to separate them at some point in their lives? More so in the case of such a particularly shaped bass as a Bongo, I mean, why?

Places like Guitar Center used to charge extra for the case that was included with the bass. They also did a poor job of keeping the case with the instrument it belonged to. There really isn't a way to explain what happens there. If this bass came from GC, than it is highly likely the case was lost or given out to a guy who bought a Les Paul guitar and needed a case to get it home.

I contacted them and they want $175 plus $35 for shipping. Pricey for an abs case.

Have you contacted a Musicman dealer like Bass Central or Sweetwater? They might be able to do better on price. Often retailers offer better deals on items than buying direct from the manufacturer.

Had a bongo at one point. Yeah you should be able to buy the Ernie Ball case easily

Old thread, but seems like the right place to ask...

I have an EBMM Bongo hardshell case, sent by mistake by a seller who ultimately sent me the right one for my EBMM ray24ca. He reimbursed me in full and told me to keep the Bongo case, sending it back proved to be a problem, for an unknown reason.

Question: will they fit for Bongo 5 and 6 stringers as well ?
