Fishman Platinum Pro EQ/DI Analog Preamp Pedal

It’s a great pedal, one of the best all in ones I’ve owned.

Battery life isn’t great and when they start to go it makes weird noises.

I found the eq and compressor to be extremely musical, very hard to dial in a bs sound but it’s not going to do anything too extreme to your sound.

Oh I would say the new price is a bit tough to swallow. $200 or so second hand it’s a great buy.
I got a discount buying one on Amazon with points. I can return it if I don’t love it. It also has some good reviews from upright players. That’s my main axe these days but this should work well for bass guitar too. Until recently I had three pedals (DI with EQ, HPF, compressor) to accomplish what this does in one. Fingers crossed I can retire my pedal board and just use this guy for any and all upright and/or electric gigs.

Anyone using this? I’m looking for something for upright and electric that combines compressor, HPF, and DI with gain and EQ. This seems to have it all. I don’t want to deal with a pedal board. Just one pedal that does it all. This also has a tuner. Thanks for your feedback.

Update: it arrived yesterday and so far I love it. It does in one pedal what at various times required four (HPF, compressor, DI, tuner). I haven’t run the upright through it yet but the HPF feels very similar to my Fdeck. Adios, pedalboard.

So far I'm very happy with it. I noodled a bit on my own then used it at rehearsal. For context, I'm teaching a pal to play guitar and he comes over to play with me (bass and keys) and the missuz (drums), mostly playing simply rock tunes (aiming mainly at punk and post-punk). Our rehearsal space is small, so I'm leaving my bass amp aside to save floor space and just running my new 5-string through the PA. The Fishman is giving me a nice clear sound straight into the PA, and the low cut / HPF is invaluable considering my speakers don't do much below 75 Hz. The compressor is very transparent on fingerstyle, though I haven't tried pick or slap yet. The tuner is quick and accurate, and the EQ is very versatile. I'll keep putting it through its paces, but so far it's quite good!

Update: I just played the upright through it and then into a little practice amp bypassing the onboard preamp. It sounds fine. It’s the classic MBOL scenario (my bass only louder). It’s just not possible to reproduce the acoustic sound of an upright bass with a pickup. A mic is the best way. That said, the Fishman does its job. I would probably disable the compression and just use HPF for upright. And then dial in compression for a bass guitar. Tomorrow night I get to gig it for the first time with the upright. Will post an update afterward.

I've owned and used mine with upright for years including using it as my old Ampeg combo amp's preamp. Everything you are asking it to do is there.

I have the first version, and while I like all the onboard tools, I feel like it sucks a lot out of the volume and headroom. No way that it can replace an amps pre-amp. Having better luck going direct into the amp. Still working on it.

That’s interesting because mine (the current model) does exactly the opposite. I use it with my Phil Jones Bass Double Four which has a limited output on its own. The Fishman both significantly increases the output while also making it more efficient courtesy of the HPF, which increases headroom.
