Flats on E & A, Rounds on D & G

I normally use Rotosound Swing 66 on my Precision and am satisfied with the tonal variations available with finger style and hand placement, but reading about flats is intriguing to me.

Has anybody ever tried some thumpy flats as your two low strings, and sparkly rounds as your two high strings?

I tried it, la Bella 1954s on E and A and some d addario rounds I think. Did not like it at all. Tension felt weird. It might be just me tho. On DB I do mix a bunch of strings together, didn't work for me ON EB.

Thanks ColdEye.

Why, Thuddy?
Firstly, because it sounded funny to me to chastise someone named Brozzy :). Secondly, you will have too much of a tension, feel, and tone difference between the two string types. I just don't think it would be a pleasant experience. If, however, you are really curious about it then it might be worth a try anyway.
