I try to check out the sunset almost every night. Sunsets are like waves in the ocean. No two are ever the same. This evening I was on a maintenance check-out flight and saw one of the most beautiful sunsets I ever witnessed. Put the plane on auto-pilot and took a few photos. Unfortunately, a lot of the fiery colors are from the Ventura -Santa Barbra fire, now 14 days old. That said, the smoke is blowing out hundreds of miles over the ocean and making breath taking sunsets. That is a small portion of Catalina Island on the left. On the right side of the picture you can see the dark black smoke line's westward movement from the fires.
