I saw a picture of Frank Bello with his middle and ring fingers completely wrecked. So I tweeted that pic, asking him what song he used three fingers on. He replied, "I always use three fingers to play."

I'm still shocked. I've watched many videos of him playing bass, and I swear I've never seen him using his ring finger to pluck. Am I blind?? o_O I slowed down those videos and still can't find one where he uses his ring finger.

It kinda looks to be like he uses his middle and ring finger at the same time. It doesn't look like three fingers the way Alex Webster or Nick Schendzielos uses three fingers.

I loved Frank's tone growing up. I miss that really aggressive attack in his tone. You don’t really hear it any more.

Oh it seems like that to me as well. And yes! I love his bass tone so so much!! We have to wait for the new album!!
